QTR 4:
Assignment 13.1:

Assignment 13.2:

Tuesday, March 29:  Corrected 13.2, took starter quiz.  Began deriving and filling out unit circle in notes.  HW:  Complete unit circle.

Thursday, March 31:  Unit Circle Quiz #1.  Self-graded on effort forth on completing the homework assignment.  Reviewed how to get started on filling out unit circle.  Discussed reference angles again and their usefulness.  Applied unit circle ideas to evaluate trig functions of any angle.
HW: Assignment 13.3.  p. 829: 12-34 ALL  DUE: 4/4/11

Monday, April 4:  Correct Assignment 13.3.  Unit Circle Quiz #2.  Review assignment covering note packet and sections 13.1-13.3 of textbook. p.  878: 9-28 all.  DUE 4/6/11

Wednesday, April 6:  Correct, turn in review assignment. Turn in notes.  Quiz: 13.1-13.3 + Unit Circle. (This means assignments 13.1, 13.2, and 13.3 are absolutely due.) After-test assignment:  (= easy points!)
Read pp. 848-871. In your own words, on own paper, summarize:
unit circle                             amplitude                         circular function                     frequency
periodic function                   phase shift                        cycle                                    principal values
period                                  arcsine function                 arccosine function                 arctangent function
*Bring back to class Friday*.

Friday, April 8:   Turn in vocab assignment. Sine, Cosine Waves, including amplitude and period.  Assignment 13.7: p. 851: 9-16 & p. 859: 9-22.  DUE 4/12/11.

Tuesday, April 12:  Correct & turn in assignment 13.7.  Cover parent graph of tan function and vertical/horizontal shifts to all trig graphs.  HW is p. 867: 20-33, 37-39.  *No need to identify mid-line (can if you want to) *Graphs not mandatory for numbers 20-25 (only).
*If you are trying to graph functions in a calculator to check them, remember to change your calculator MODE into RADIANS (as opposed to degrees.)*

Thursday, April 14: Did not correct assignmnet 13.8 (p. 867). Instead, answered many questions about the content, graphing, etc.  Moved on to open book/open note test corrections for half-credit back.  (Nothing replaces being prepared the first time; but I do want to encourage learning even if you weren't ready the first time around--1/2 credit is the incentive to keep going).   Considered this day the day to study trig/unit circle/sine- and cosine-waves for the CRT as we don't have a day build-in into our schedule for quarter 4 material review.  All materials due to Ferrara at end of class, including original exam.  No take-homes for the test corrections.

Monday, April 25:  Corrected and turned in assignmet 13.8 from April 12.  This assignment is absolutely due BEFORE class on Wednesday, Apr 27.  Two weeks was plenty of time to finish....
Begun new unit today: Data Measurement and Probablity.  (Basically an intro to statistics)  I LOVE this unit!
In class: New guided notes packet.  Completed first two pages on measuring central tendencies and dispersion of data along with graphing box-&-whisker plots and histograms.  Assignment:  Handout.  Please show all work on another sheet of paper as there is not sufficient room to do so on the handout.  HW is DUE 4/27.  NO LATE WORK FOR THIS UNIT.  (Getting behind will not help you get prepared for testing on May 11, 13)
